What is Dobby’s Sock Swap?
Dobby’s Sock Swap is an annual Friggin’ Nerds tradition that brings the magic of the holidays right to your feet. Just as Dobby loved to give and receive unique socks, our community loves to trade silly, cozy, and fun socks around the holidays!
Whether you’re a die-hard sock aficionado or simply enjoy keeping your toes toasty, this event is perfect for you. It’s a wonderful way to embrace the holiday spirit, share some joy, and connect with other members of the community, on a reasonable budget!
How Does it Work?
Participating in Dobby’s Sock Swap is as easy as waving a wand. Here’s the step-by-step breakdown:
- Join the Swap: Head over to Elfster and sign up for Dobby’s 2nd Annual Sock Swap. Don’t worry, it’s absolutely free!
- Fill Out Your Profile: Once you’re in, take a moment to fill out your profile. Share your sock size and any preferences, such as your favorite colors, patterns, or fandoms.
- Draw Names: Elfster will randomly assign you a fellow participant to send a fantastic pair of socks to, and you’ll receive one in return. But don’t tell anyone who you’ll be sending to – it’s more exciting to keep it a surprise!
- Shop and Ship: Browse through the incredible variety of socks available online or visit your local stores to select a pair that you believe your assigned sock swap partner will adore. Remember, it’s all about spreading joy through the gift of socks! You can also choose to include a note letting your recipient know who their Dobby was, or you can choose to remain anonymous!
- Reveal and Share: When you receive your socks, share your joy and excitement with the rest of our community on Elfster or Discord. Thank your Dobby, and let everyone know how your heart and your sock drawer have been filled with cheer!
