Yesterday, Peacock released the FULL Official Trailer for their Twisted Metal show set to premiere on July 27 on their streaming platform…and I must say, it looks WAY better than what I was expecting.
This isn’t going to be a masterpiece that we will talk about a decade from now, but it will be a fun show, with funny one-liners, explosions, car chases, and throwbacks to the classic video game series the show is based on. Buckle in and hold on tight for this wild ride!
The footage in the trailer features a lot of star Anthony Mackie as delivery driver John Doe. This isn’t your standard UPS driver though, as the show is set in a post-apocalyptic atmosphere where cities have walled off their borders to keep criminals and crazies out. John Doe is a driver between these isolated cities, willing to brave the rough terrain between them to get paid and courier needed supplies.
Several original Twisted Metal characters will be featured in this, but none of them are more noticable than Somoa Joe/Will Arnett’s Sweet Tooth. The face of the franchise for many years…who happens to be a psycho murdering clown who drives an ice cream truck. Yep, this show is going to be great.
